I am a 34-year old re-rider. In my days of yore, I rode and showed hunters at a barn full o'drama. Talk about snark. Everyone had an opinion about everything! I was the not-rich kid who had the crazy OTTB and the secondhand saddle (not to mention the bad haircut, mouth full of braces and bad hairstyle, but I digress).
I sold my horse prior to college, and took a hiatus from riding for 15+ years. When I started again in 2004, I didn't do much more than walk/trot. Since then, I made a lot of stupid decisions (like buying horses completely unsuitable for me) and generally getting frustrated that things weren't as they were when I was 17 and could ride any horse at any time.
A few months ago, I must have gotten hit upside the head with a figurative frying pan, because it occurred to me that if I truly wanted to get back into riding, I needed to do it right. With a trainer.
Enter L., the wonderfully patient trainer.
Enter R., the wonderfully patient TB mare.
Thus begins our journey together.
